DRAFT — for legal review before publishing
Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how OGM World Wide LLC ("we", "us") handles information across the Samskriti platform, including the Samskriti website and the Samskriti · Gita mobile app (together, the "Service"). This draft was written to accurately reflect what the Service actually does as of this writing — please have it reviewed by qualified counsel before publishing, and correct anything that no longer matches the product.
1. Information we collect
Account information
If you create an account or sign in (email/password, Sign in with Apple, or Sign in with Google), we store your name, email address, and a hashed password (we never store your password in plain text). Guest mode requires no account and no personal information at all.
Reading data, bookmarks, and notes
Your bookmarks, reading progress, and any notes are stored locally on your device by default. If you turn on cloud sync (mobile app: "Sync bookmarks & progress" under Privacy & Security), this data is also sent to and stored on our servers over an encrypted connection (TLS), so it can follow you across devices when signed in. This sync is not end-to-end encrypted — our servers can technically access this data, the same way most cloud-connected apps work. If we ever build true end-to-end encryption for this feature, this policy will be updated to say so explicitly; until then, do not describe this feature as "encrypted cloud sync" or similarly in store listings or marketing.
Content you send to AI features
Features like "Ask Krishna," "How I feel" verse guidance, Sadhana Path plans, blog drafts, and semantic search send the text you type (and, for voice input, your recording for transcription) to our servers, which forward it to our AI providers — OpenAI, with Anthropic (Claude) as a fallback — to generate a response. In the mobile app this happens only after you allow it in the "Allow AI processing?" prompt shown before your first use of an AI feature; you can turn it off anytime in Settings → Privacy. We do not use this content to train AI models ourselves, and under OpenAI's and Anthropic's API terms they do not use API content to train their models either. Voice recordings are sent for transcription only and are not retained by us after the transcription is returned.
Study group calls
Live audio/video study group calls run on LiveKit, open-source real-time communications software that we operate on our own servers. Audio and video in calls are transmitted in real time between participants and are not recorded or stored by us. Group names, memberships, and discussion posts you choose to write are stored on our servers.
Automatically collected information
Our servers log standard request information (such as IP address and timestamps) for security, abuse-prevention, and rate-limiting purposes. The website uses Sentry for crash and error reporting, which may capture technical details about an error (such as a stack trace) but is not used for advertising or behavioral tracking. We do not use third-party advertising networks, and we do not sell personal information.
2. How we use information
- To provide and maintain the Service (your account, reading progress, bookmarks, AI features, community features).
- To respond to the AI requests you initiate, grounded in the Bhagavad Gita's verses.
- To keep the Service secure, prevent abuse, and enforce rate limits / fair-use quotas.
- To communicate with you about your account when necessary (e.g. password resets).
3. Who we share information with
We share information only as needed to operate the Service:
- OpenAI and Anthropic — AI service providers that process text/voice you submit to AI features, as described above.
- IDrive e2 — cloud storage provider that stores files you upload (photos, audio, video and documents in notes and My Media) and backups of our database.
- Hostinger — hosting provider for the servers that run the Service.
- Apple / Google — verify your identity if you choose Sign in with Apple or Google; we never see your Apple or Google password.
These providers process data only on our behalf to run the Service, not for their own purposes.
We do not sell your personal information to anyone, for any purpose.
4. Your choices and rights
- Guest mode — use the Service fully without creating an account.
- Export your data — request a downloadable copy of your account data, bookmarks, progress, and notes at any time (mobile app: You tab → Export my data).
- Delete your account — request account deletion from the app or by emailing support@ogmworldwide.com; deletion requests are reviewed and actioned by our team.
- Turn off sync — disable cloud sync at any time; your data then stays local to that device going forward (previously synced data on our servers is removed only via an account deletion request).
Delete your account and associated data
To request deletion of your account and associated data, you can either:
- Open the app, go to the You tab and tap Delete account, or
- Email support@ogmworldwide.com with the subject line Delete my account.
Deletion is completed within 7 days of your request. We delete account profile data, bookmarks, reading progress, notes, uploaded files, study activity, synced data, and other account-related content associated with that profile. We may keep limited records (such as security and audit logs) for up to 90 days for legal compliance, fraud prevention and security, after which they are deleted.
If you disable sync before requesting deletion, any remaining data that is local to a specific device stays on that device and is not automatically deleted unless the device is reset or the user removes it. Data already stored on our servers is removed as part of the deletion request process.
Delete specific data without deleting your account
You don't have to delete your whole account to remove specific content. In the mobile app:
- A verse note (including any attached photo, video, or voice recording) — open the note and tap Delete. This permanently removes that note and any file attached to it.
- A Sadhana Path (practice plan) — open the path and tap Delete in the header. This permanently removes that path and its progress.
Both actions take effect immediately and cannot be undone. If you'd rather have us remove other specific data on your behalf (for example, an Ask Krishna conversation), email support@ogmworldwide.com with the subject line Delete my data and describe what to remove — we review and action these requests within 7 days, and may keep limited security and audit records for up to 90 days, as described above.
5. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at support@ogmworldwide.com and we will delete it.
6. Data retention and security
We retain account data for as long as your account is active. After you delete your account, it is removed within 7 days, and limited security and audit records are kept for no more than 90 days. We use industry-standard measures (such as TLS encryption in transit and password hashing) to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and for material changes we will provide more prominent notice.
